Astoria Blue

Brian and I hardly ever get days off together, which is a bummer when the weather is so nice and there are so many summery things to do! Last week we actually got two days off in a row together, so I insisted that we spend one of those days driving out to the coast. We decided upon Astoria, since we had been wanting to check out the sleepy little town at the mouth of the Columbia for a while now. We had lunch, walked around the marina, and browsed the the antique shops until they closed. It was very relaxing and peaceful, and our prize for the day was this blue Ball Ideal jar, which I thought would make a wonderful vase. I love the vibrant orange dahlias against the translucent blue. Oh, the colors of summer...
