Succulent Garden

I had been wanting to make a pretty succulent garden for inside my home for a while now, and I finally got around to it after finding the perfect container. I love having fresh flowers on my dining room table, but for the weeks when that just doesn't happen, this succulent garden can make a very nice centerpiece. Succulents are nice because they don't require a lot of care or water. You can forget about them for a few weeks, and they'll be just fine. (Not that I'm encouraging you to neglect your plants, but let's be real– we all forget sometimes!)

Supplies:
shallow glass vase
pebbles
aquarium rocks
sand
potting soil
succulents

1. Cover the bottom of the vase with pebbles and aquarium rocks for drainage. 2. Pour in a layer of sand and smooth over the rocks. 3. Add a layer of potting soil, pack it down, and smooth out. Repeat steps 2 + 3 until vase is nearly full, ending with soil. 4. Place succulents in vase, and pack soil in around them. 5. Lightly water in. 6. Place a few pebbles around the succulents for added decoration.

  2. I want to do this! I have a little one now but it is not doing so well. Maybe it needs more drainage? Maybe I need you to come over and love on my plants again.
